Interview with the Peruvian Ambassador to Argentina Peter Camino Cannock, the Director of the Trade Office of Peru in Argentina Silvia Seperack and Javier Rueda from C&V International Company at the AR Mining Exhibition 2019.
The Ambassador stressed the fact that Perú is and has always been a mining country. He added that in the last 25 years, Perú has greatly advanced with high international standards and large investments and it has become a significant worldwide player in the field of mining. The companies have been modernized and have become large goods and services providers. They have come to Argentina to participate actively and meet the market’s needs.
He said that there is a commercial office in the embassy that works hard and has developed many plans for the current year, not only in Buenos Aires, but also in the provinces of Argentina. “We know about the great potential the country holds in this field “
The ambassador added that although there’s an agreement with Argentina regarding exchange of goods, negotiations have started to reach a more advanced agreement, with the characteristics of a free trade agreement, similar to the one concluded with Chile. He also stated that Perú has been open to investments for many years now, within a legal framework, and that currently, there are many Argentine investments. “With a free trade agreement, it will be easy for Peruvian investments to step up in Argentina”.
The Director Silvia Seperack, said that six supplying mining companies with ability to sell their exportable supply have been chosen for the AR Mining event and they are represented in our stand.
Javier Rueda from C&V International company mentioned that Argentine market is considered to hold great potential especially in gold, silver and copper. Besides, he emphasized that they have had few barriers to market entry, on the basis of the agreement with Mercosur, which allows them to compete on an equal footing with Chilean companies.
