Mission Accomplished: The Lithium Table closes a significant agreement in Germany

The governors of Salta, Catamarca, and Jujuy, representing the provinces that make up the Lithium Table, traveled to Germany on a mission, which they successfully fulfilled, achieving an agreement to sell 20,000 tons of lithium carbonate produced by the northern provinces of Argentina.
The Lithium Table governors, Gustavo Sáenz, Carlos Sadir of Jujuy, and Raúl Jalil of Catamarca, accompanied by the Secretary of Mining of the Nation, Flavia Royón (before her departure), the governor of San Juan, Marcelo Orrego, and national entrepreneurs in the industry, presented themselves in Berlin as part of the First Argentine-German Meeting on Critical Minerals.
The Argentine representatives addressed over 140 investors, politicians, influential figures in the global mining sector, and officials responsible for the German energy transition.
The three provincial leaders of the Lithium Table concluded their mission by signing a significant collaboration agreement with the German company Eusati GmbH to work in these provinces. They also initiated negotiations with local and European companies for potential investments in northern Argentina.
The leaders fulfill their mission by returning to the country with a commitment to purchase 20,000 tons of lithium carbonate from northern Argentina from one of the largest European importers of critical materials, Eusati GmbH.
The Argentine delegation also presented itself in the German capital, in front of the German Parliament and the Ministry of Economy and Climate of the German country.
The German representatives showed strong interest in the status of exploration and production projects of critical minerals, such as copper and lithium, in Argentine territory.
During the discussions, topics such as Argentina’s fundamental role not only in the energy transition but also in the European strategy for supplier diversification were emphasized. It was highlighted that Argentina «is eligible as a recipient of various funds created to support German companies in developing activities abroad.»
