ARPEL 2026: “Together We Are Energy”
From June 1 to 4, 2026, Buenos Aires will host the VIII ARPEL Conference, one of the most important gatherings for the energy industry in Latin America and the Caribbean.The event will take place at the Hilton Hotel under the slogan “Together We Are Energy” and will bring together CEOs, government authorities, international experts, and technical leaders from across the oil, gas, and new energy value chain.
At a time marked by the growth of unconventional developments, the expansion of liquefied natural gas (LNG), the need for new infrastructure investments, and the advancement of technologies related to artificial intelligence, automation, and the energy transition, ARPEL 2026 aims to provide a strategic platform to discuss the challenges of competitiveness, energy security, and sustainability facing the region.
MAIN SPEAKERS / CONFERENCE LEADERS
Among the featured speakers is Daniel Yergin, Vice Chairman of S&P Global, historian, economic analyst, and author of “The Prize,” considered one of the most influential books on the history of the oil industry. Winner of the Pulitzer Prize and advisor to governments and global energy companies, Yergin will analyze the international energy landscape and the implications of the new global geopolitical and economic agenda for Latin America.Kenneth Medlock will also participate. He is Senior Director at the Baker Institute for Public Policy at Rice University and an internationally recognized expert in natural gas, LNG, and energy transition markets. His analysis of global energy scenarios and fuel demand trends in emerging economies is highly regarded across the industry.
Another highlighted speaker will be Jarand Rystad, Founder and CEO of Rystad Energy, one of the world’s most influential energy consulting firms. Rystad specializes in upstream analysis, investments, and international energy markets and is a key reference for operators, governments, and investment funds monitoring the evolution of the global energy business.
The conference will also feature Andrea Stegher, a global leader in the gas industry and former President of the International Gas Union (IGU). With extensive experience in natural gas and LNG development projects, Stegher will address regional market expansion opportunities and the role of gas as a key energy transition fuel.
Among the leading Latin American executives participating is Horacio Marín, President and CEO of YPF, who will discuss Argentina’s new strategic positioning within the global energy map and the export potential of Vaca Muerta. Marín, a chemical engineer with extensive upstream experience, previously led Tecpetrol operations before taking over Argentina’s largest energy company.
Other prominent participants include Felipe Bayón, former CEO of Ecopetrol and a recognized leader in the Latin American energy sector; Oscar Sardi, CEO of Transportadora Gas del Sur (TGS), one of Argentina’s main midstream and gas transportation companies; and executives from international companies such as Shell, TotalEnergies, Trafigura, and Tecpetrol.

Throughout the four-day ARPEL 2026 Conference, panels and discussions will focus on Vaca Muerta, offshore developments, refining, petrochemicals, LNG exports, artificial intelligence applied to energy operations, decarbonization, new technologies, and talent development for the energy industry of the future.
