The president Mauricio Macri and the governor María Eugenia Vidal visited Pampa Wind Farm III, which demanded an investment of 2,000 million. Pampa Energía announced the construction of its fourth park, which will be operating in 2020, with another 3,000 million investment.
Energy Pampa Wind Farm III, located in Coronel Rosales, which was launched weeks ago, was visited by the President of the Nation, Mauricio Macri, the Governor María Eugenia Vidal, the Mayor of General Rosales, Mariano Uset and national, provincial and municipal officials. This third Pampa wind farm is added to other two farms located 20 kilometers from Bahía Blanca.
The new park has a capacity of 53 MW and is already providing sustainable energy to the national system. It demanded an investment of more than 3,000 million pesos. With this park, Pampa Energía already generates 206 MW of wind power, which means 19 % of the wind energy of the country, the 13 % of the renewable energy and it will generate 258 MW in 2020 with the fourth that was announced today.
Marcelo Mindlin, president of Pampa Energía, said: “we are proud of being part of the revolution of renewable energies that is taking place now in the country and that provides the matrix of the system with a horizon of greater sustainability. Because of this, today I want to announce that in a few days we will begin the construction of our fourth wind project that will account for a total capacity of 258 MW of wind energy. This expansion is part of the strategic investment plan that Pampa has and that exceeds 1 billion dollars annually”. The start-up of the already operational 3 wind farms plus the fourth announced park, the expansion of the Genelba Thermoelectric Central, the acquisition and closure of the combined cycle of the Ensenada Thermoelectric Central, the North and South Vaca Muerta pipelines projects, through TGS, and the exploration of new gas fields in Vaca Muerta are all part of Pampa Energía’s ambitious investment plan of more than 1,000 million dollars per year.
Technical data
Pampa Energy III Wind Farm has 14 wind turbines made up of 4 sections of a tower, 1 nacelle and 3 blades that drive a turbine of a total diameter of 136 m. Like the two previous projects, the installation of these wind turbines required the construction of sophisticated works on the platforms and foundations, similar to those that exist in the different parks of that type in the world and it also required the work of 180 people. The generators, coupled to the turbine shaft, at 117 meters high, produce electric power in 33KV. This third project was awarded within the framework of Resolution 281 of the Renewable Energies Term Market (MATER). And its production is intended to serve the segment of Large Users, through contracts between private parties.
